Big Boy!

Nicolas has decided he really likes going potty. He doesn't really care about treats for going, which is nice, but we sometimes give him one so he keeps enjoying it. I wasn't pushing potty training at all he just decided he likes the potty better than diapers. Lets just hope this lasts!

Movie Night

Tonight we had a fun little family movie night. Jorge has worked way too much the last few weeks and we've been busy with other activities, so it was fun to just stay home and enjoy being together. We are going to Disneyland in April, so we are getting ready by having a movie night every Friday and watching a Disney movie. We watched Lion King tonight and had a little too much candy, by the end Nicolas was spinning in circles until he fell then he would do it again. Hope you all have a great weekend!

We're still alive!

So our family just survived a week of passing around a really bad stomach flu. It was horrible. I didn't take any pictures of anyone puking, sorry to disappoint! Nicolas started things off, then Kaden got it, I got it the worst, now Jorge is on the mend. I just wish we could of all had it at the same time so we didn't deal with it for a week. I am just glad its over and I can disinfect my house.
Other than that we are LOVING the 65 degree weather in January. Nicolas and I enjoyed a 2 hour play day at the park with friends. I think I enjoyed it as much as he did, it was so nice to have some adult conversation after hibernating for the last couple of months! I hope everyone is doing well!

Happy New Year

While my parents were here we had a fun New Years party. We made a yummy dinner and actually used our dining room and nice dishes. We had a toast with good old Martinelli's. After dinner Jorge and Kelly made some tres leches cakes and my dad made me key lime pie, since I hate tres leches. It was nice to see them having fun together in the kitchen. Jorge claims that can make these since he makes them at work everyday but I had never seen him in action. They turned out really good and I think I gained a few pounds to show it!
We watched a movie and played games until midnight. Nicolas went to bed at his regular time and Kaden had a rough day so I made him go to bed at 10. We had so much fun together and my parents take such good care of us while they are here, its so hard to let them go. We appreciate all of the effort they take to be with us!
This is little Sadie. She also got to come. It was her first big trip. She was so excited to be here in the sunshine. She hates going out in the snow to go potty, so we left the back door open and she would go in and out all day enjoying the nice weather. She didn't enjoy our New Years celebrations too much, she just wanted to be left alone to sleep.

A visit from Grandma and Papa

My parents and little brother drove out here a couple of days after Christmas to spend some time with us and bring Christmas to us, since we weren't able to go to Utah. We had the best time with them. They brought a bunch of fun gifts, but the best were the new quilts my mom made for the boys beds. Kaden's is pirates and Nicolas' is firetrucks. They are so cute and go really well with their rooms.

Almost every time my parents come we take a little trip down to San Fransisco. We went one afternoon for lunch and a walk on the pier. I love seeing the ocean, hopefully one time we go we can go out on a boat or something. Its a fun place to go and there are alot of interesting people to watch!

Christmas 2008

This year we stayed in California for Christmas since Jorge took time off for Thanksgiving. It was so hard and lonely without family on Christmas. To me, Christmas is about being with family and enjoying lots of visits on Christmas day, and just being together. We tried our best to make the day fun for the kids so they didn't miss their grandparents and cousins too much.
Santa brought the boys lots of fun stuff. Kaden got a Star Wars Lego ship, some running shoes, some books, and other stuff. Nicolas' favorite thing was a huge firetruck he got.
Jorge got a fire pit for the back yard and all of the fixins for smores, yummy!
Santa accidentally left his bag in our fireplace full of toys! The boys found it after opening all of their gifts and got very excited!
We used my new skillet to make a very yummy french toast breakfast.
After breakfast we went and saw the movie "Bolt", it was a lot of fun and a very cute movie. Then, we went home and got stuff ready to go to some friends house for an early dinner. We had already planned on having the missionaries come over for dinner, so needless to say at the end of the day we were way too full!
In the end we had a good Christmas. We stayed so busy the day went by way to fast. After our dinner with the missionaries our friends wanted us to come back for cinnamon rolls and games. We didn't get home til 11 and we were all exhausted.

Cristmas Eve

I know I'm pretty lame posting about Christmas Eve almost 2 weeks late but I've been busy and lazy, so I'm finally getting around to it. I was having a hard time getting excited for Christmas since we were here and alone but it ended up turning out okay. Jorge had to work til 5 on Christmas Eve so the boys and I just had a regular day. We went to the gym in the morning then just hung out at home and did a little baking til Jorge got home.
Our good friends, the Heaps', invited us to come over for some yummy soup and brownies. Kaden was excited to play with his friends. After that we went out and looked at Christmas lights with some other friends then went to their house and visited for a while. We decided we better get home so we didn't miss Santa, but we kept the boys out too late. I wish we had spent some more time at home preparing for Santa and getting into the spirit of Christmas. Instead we rushed home and let the boys open their new jammies, put out cookies for Santa, then rushed them to bed.
We had a little Christmas Eve toast with some apple cider before putting the kids to bed. Nicolas thought it was great not having to use a sippy cup!
Jorge and the boys in their new jammies. Jorge surprised me and bought me some too. Kaden and Nicolas were very excited for Christmas morning. Jorge looked out the window and saw a shadow that looked like a reindeer and had Kaden convinced Santa was almost at our house. Kaden rushed to bed so he didn't skip our house. Then Jorge and I got busy putting out all of the gifts. Jorge had done his shopping the day before so we were up til almost 1 so he could wrap his gifts.
