Trunk or Treat

Nicolas and his best buddy Sam, I couldn't get them to stand still for a picture so here's an action shot! Nicolas and Katelyn. She picks him up every Sunday and walks him to nursery. What a sweet little girl!

Last night was our wards Trunk or Treat. It was so much fun! We had a yummy chili dinner then the kids played games and went through a spook alley. It was pouring outside so the parents sat in a big circle and passed out candy as the kids walked by. I think that's the way to do it, it was over in less than 10 minutes! I feel bad that I didn't get any pictures of Kaden, he was having so much fun running around I hardly saw him after we got there!

Karate Halloween Party

Our weird family

The karate instructors
Saturday night we went to Jorge and Kaden's karate place for a fun Halloween party. The boys were dressed as Rockstars! Kaden and Nicolas won the costume contest and each got a $10 gift card to Walmart (which I put to good use).

Astronomy Night

On Friday night we went to Kaden's school for Astronomy Night. They aren't allowed to celebrate Halloween in our school district so the PTA put together this event for the kids. We got to go into a little planetarium in the library and learn about stars, look through telescopes, and play games. The kids got to dress up and do a little trick or treating also.

So I just spent an hour uploading pictures and making this slide show and when I watched it I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the pictures, but its late and at this point I really don't care and just want to be done. Sorry about the blurry pictures! Kaden had quite the birthday this year! On the 11th we had a party for him at his karate dojo. Since they just opened they offered to do a free birthday party for him. He invited his soccer team and some boys from our ward. They did a karate class and played some fun games, then Kaden got to cut his cake with a samurai sword. They had a great time and it was nice not having to do anything other than bake a cake! Later that day we went to Chevy's for dinner and they sang to Kaden and gave him a sombrero.

On the 13th which was Kaden's birthday he opened some presents then we went to CPK with some friends for dinner, then had them over for cake and ice cream. We also went to Walmart to get Kaden his fish tank he's been begging for.

Then on the 18th we had Kaden's school friends come to our house for a very exciting Halloween party. Kelly was a lifesaver and made the cake, decorated, and entertained the kids. We didn't expect that all 18 kids we invited would actually come, since it was a Saturday evening, but they did. They had a blast! They decorated cookies, made treat bags, bounced in the bounce house, and did a pinata. Kaden got tons of fun stuff and had so much fun with his friends. As you can see he has a lot of friends that are girls, in one picture he is surrounded by like 8 of them. They were fighting over him! I don't know what it is about this kid and girls but we're in trouble!

My kids are so spoiled when it comes to birthdays, they have a mom that loves any reason to have a party. I don't think we'll do two parties again though, that was a little much!

Uncle Kelly's visit!

Nicolas thought he was going home with Kelly
Kelly was sick of me and my camera and wouldn't smile
Saying goodbye

My brother Kelly got to come and spend some time out here with us. The boys had so much fun and were so sad when he had to leave. Nicolas made Kelly carry him everywhere we went. He even said his tummy hurt when I was trying to get him into his stroller so he could get Kelly to hold him. Kelly was great with the kids. He made a fun birthday cake for Kaden's party and did all of the decorating, he was a life saver! He was supposed to come and relax and work on his homework, but we kept him so busy I don't know how much he got done. We're hoping he will come back again soon!

Happy Birthday Kaden

Today is Kaden's 7th birthday! He has been so excited for this day to come. He wanted to open a present before school so I let him open one, he got a couple of new shirts. I think he was hoping for something a little bit more exciting but he got to wear new clothes to school.
I can't believe my little boy is 7 years old, he is growing up way too fast. He is such a fun, energetic, smart, and loving boy and we are so grateful he is a part of our family. Happy birthday sweet boy!

Field trip to the Pumpkin Farm

This week Nicolas and I went on a field trip to a Pumpkin Farm with his little preschool. The kids had a great time looking at animals, going for a hay ride, climbing a hay tower, and going down some big slides. It was weird for me going to a pumpkin farm in 80+ degree weather when I've been used to Utah's much cooler fall weather. We had a alot of fun and can't wait for another fieldtrip!

Happy Birthday to the best Mom ever!

My mom got to come and spend her birthday with us this weekend. It was so nice to have her here. I always worry that Nicolas won't want to go to her, but I think absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder. He wouldn't let her out of his site, he even had to sit on her lap to eat and made her carry him everywhere. It was so cute, he called her "my ama". We got to watch Kaden play soccer Saturday morning then we headed out for a day of shopping. Jorge even took us to the outlets for more shopping in the evening. On Sunday we had a relaxing day watching conference, except for Kaden, he just couldn't sit still or be quiet. We celebrated her birthday a day early and had some yummy chocolate cake and gave her a bracelet from her favorite store. It was so hard to say goodbye to her this afternoon, you'd think after 2 years of being away I would get used to it but it just gets harder. I appreciate the time she takes to come and spend with us though and the fun memories we are creating. Happy birthday Mom, we love you and miss you already!

Working with Daddy

On Sunday the city had a big health and fitness expo for kids, Jorge had a booth there to advertise and sell burritos. The boys and I went and helped him. Kaden passed out samples, Nicolas "sorted" the money (he made such a mess of the money it took Jorge an extra hour at work to sort it all!), and I passed out coupons and helped dish up food. It was a fun event, despite the heat, and it gave us a chance to spend the day together and help Jorge.

Firetrucks

Nicolas loved the firetrucks but kept saying they were too too loud!

Nicolas got to go with his little preschool class on their first field trip to the firestation. The kids were a little intimidated by the big trucks and strange stuff, but they seemed to have fun and were excited to get little badges and fire hats.
