Gingerbread House Casualty

The boys had fun making a gingerbread house the other night. I don't think we read the instructions that said to make the house and let the frosting harden before putting the candy on. They were just putting the finishing touches on it and the roof started coming apart, I ran and got the camera and took a picture before it totally collapsed. They had fun and I didn't have to have it sitting around the house for a week, so I guess we all won!

Nicoals is officially a big boy! We decided after hearing Kaden complain for the last year about how much he hated his loft bed (and I was fed up with banging my head on the ceiling while changing the sheets) to set up his old bed. We cut the legs off of the loft bed which makes a perfect bed with side rails for a very wiggly 2 year old. Now we have two happy little boys. Nicolas transitioned really well to the new bed and even yells for me in the morning just like his big brother did til he was 3 1/2. Hopefully that will last! I will post some pictures of the new rooms once the new handmade bedspreads arrive from Grandma for Christmas!

Oh Christmas Tree!

Nicolas had his little friend Sam over to play the other day and they were helping me do some Christmas decorating. I got them some fishy crackers and got busy doing something and this is how I found them a few minutes later. They were just laying there enjoying the bubble lights and a snack!

Our Little Joseph

Our ward Christmas party was a lot of fun. The kids got to do a Nativity for everyone. Kaden got to be Joseph and he did a great job. He had a few speaking parts that he memorized, he didn't even seem nervous. After the Nativity we had some yummy desserts and hot chocolate and the kids got to have a visit with Santa.

Family pictures

Since its been two and a half years since we've had a family picture taken we decided it was time. While we were in Utah for Thanksgiving my cousin Jaime took these pictures for us. She did an amazing job, we love how they turned out. My family hasn't had a big family picture done for almost 11 years so we also had that done. My plan this year is to send out Christmas cards for the first time! There are so many great pictures but these are some of my favorites.
Nicolas was really tired so we couldn't get many smiles, but I think he's still pretty cute!

9 years

Today is our 9 year anniversary. Time has just flown by, I can't believe we've been together for 11 1/2 years, married for 9, and that we have a 7 year old and 2 year old. We have been through so much together, especially the last 2 years, moving to California where we knew no one. We have grown so much closer because we are all each other has had. I didn't have the option to run to my mom every time I've needed something. Jorge is such a sweet, loving husband and daddy. He is dedicated to our family and works so hard to provide for us and to allow me to stay home with our boys. I love and appreciate him more than words can say. He is truly my soul mate and best friend!
