The Water Park
Hayden loved the water
Nicolas enjoyed climbing around at the park more than the water.
After being stuck in the house for the past 4 days because of the smoke filled air we had to get out. Me and the kids met my friend Skye and her cute little boy Hayden at this fun water park. Skye and her husband Joel were our neighbors then they moved away 8 months ago but now they are back, and we're so excited! Although its hard being away from Utah something that I love about this area is the abundance of super fun city parks. There is a park on practically every corner it seems like, and they are all clean and well maintained. Any time we are bored we head to the park. We are also lucky because the house we bought is right across from an elementary school and the playground is right out our front door.

Today's Events
This morning Nicolas got to go to his first friend birthday party. His friend Chase turned 3 today and our playgroup got together for a fun water party. The kids got to play in the water, run around outside, and swing on their swing set. They got some fun pirate treasures to take home. Nicolas was so excited he chanted "party, party, party" the whole morning. He really had no idea what was going on but was excited to be in his swimming suit and going to his friends house. I have to thank Patti for keeping Nicolas so I could take Kaden to his art class.
Kaden loves to draw and color so we signed him up for an art camp for the week. He gets to go to the Children's Art Center for an hour every morning to learn new drawing techniques. Today was the first day and they learned how to draw leaves and use different textures. He had a good time but was excited to leave to get back to the fun birthday party.
Then this afternoon we went visiting teaching and the girl we went to visit has a pool and invited the kids to swim while we visited. The kids had a great time and swam for 2 hours. It was nice to get to talk and not have to be in the pool with the kids. She even set up a little kiddie pool for the little ones to play in. Kaden and Nicolas would live in the water if we let them. Well, that was our exciting day and now we're headed to the gym before the kids go to bed.
Ready to party!
Nicolas and the birthday boy. (we couldn't get them to both look so this is the best I could get)
My handsome artist!
Not so sure about the pool I guess!

My Dad
Our fun trip to Santa Cruz
I love my dad so much. He is the most loving, caring, forgiving, and unselfish person I know. He would do anything for anyone and is the best example of hard work. He has always worked hard to provide for our family no matter what and we never went without. He is a school teacher and has worked night and day as long as I can remember to make sure things were planned, papers corrected, and grades were done. When my brothers went on missions he worked at Ace Hardware at nights to earn extra money to pay for their missions. When they built a house he was there helping build it to save money and make sure everything was right. When us kids have bought or built houses of our own he's driven to Lehi or Mona to help any way he could. He's helped all of us dig trenches for sprinklers and put in our yards. Even when he comes to visit in California he's out in our yard fixing sprinklers and anything else that needs to be done. He never expects anything in return. Some of my favorite memories with my dad are the summer vacatons we went on every year. We would load up the car as soon as school was out and drive to our destination of the year. One of my favorites was when we went to Oregon, Washington, and Canada. We were gone for almost two weeks. We would camp for a couple of nights then stay in a hotel for a night to freshen up. We got to ride on a ferry into Canada and did so many fun things. I am so grateful for all of the great memories my dad provided for us and the sacrifices he has made for our family. My dad is the best and I am so proud to have him for my dad! Dad, I wish I could be there with you today, I miss you and love you so much! Holly

First Day of Summer Break
Yesterday was Kaden's first day off from school so we decided to go to the pool for some fun. In the morning we went to the gym so I could go to my body sculpting class and Kaden and Nicolas got to play in the Kids Club. We go to California Family Fitness and we absolutly love it. The kids are included in the membership and they have lots of fun activities to do while we get to excersize. After my class we got changed and went to the pool there at the gym for a couple of hours and had so much fun! Nicolas is fearless in the water so I have to be right by him or he just jumps in wherever and doesn't care if he goes under. Other than getting sunburned (I never remember putting sunscreen on myself) it was a great day and I'm sure we will be spending a lot of time there this summer.

End of Year Party
Today Kaden's 1st grade class had a fun end of year water party. The room mom had them play lots of fun water games then they had icecream sundaes. Jorge arranged his schedule so I could go and help, Kaden was excited to have me there. It was so fun to see him have fun and enjoy all of his friends and get soaked at the same time. He is sad he has to go to a new school next year, since we moved, but he is a social boy and I think he will make friends fast. Thanks for a fun day together Kaden!

A visit from Friends!
Make a Smilebox slideshow |
Last week our good friends Kip and Erica and their adorable baby Kennedy came for a visit. They came to Roseville the same time we did to open restaurants, but moved back to Utah in October to operate another restaurant. We had so much fun with them when they lived here, they were our family out here and we've missed them so much since they left. Kip came to work with Jorge for the week and me and Erica got to play. We had so much fun hanging out and talking all day. We took our babies out for runs and lots of walks, we went shopping to the outlets, we went to the mall and ate at one of Erica's favorite restaraunt, Pluto's, and we went to a yummy frozen yogurt place called Top It Off. We also went to dinner at all of our favorite restaurants we used to go together. And right before they left we had a tasty barbeque. We had so much fun spending the week with them and feel lucky to have such great friends!
